We are pleased to inform you of the creation in 2021 of the International Research Project (IRP) on Cold Forests, a collaboration between the National Scientific Research Center (CNRS), the University of Montpellier (UM), and the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT).
This project will be held in the UQAT-led International Research Laboratory on Cold Forests. The main research theme will be the analysis and modeling of the functioning of cold forests in Canada and especially in Quebec.
This research will facilitate the proposal of adaptation, regulation, management and conservation strategies for these forests in response to global changes (climatic and societal).
The IRP will be located in Quebec at the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) and will have two French bases with the Institute of Evolutionary Science of Montpellier at the University of Montpellier, and with ChronoEnvironnement at the University of Franche-Comté.
