Identifying sensitive species to the cumulative effects of forest management, both in Eastern Canada and in Fenno – Scandinavia, as lead my recent more fundamental work to focus on documenting the importance of old forests, availability of cavities and the recruitment of dead wood for various wildlife species, particularly among key groups such as woodpeckers, secondary cavity users, and small mammals.
